Most people do not enjoy buying a car. CNN held a survey which showed that at least three quarters of folks polled would prefer to go to the dentist than have to visit an automobile dealership. Most folks would love to have a car. However, there are a multitude of problems to get through and only a few of us will have the confidence to go the right way about it. A couple of things to remember to make the process easier.
1. Questions, many questions, should be asked. Asl intelligent questions that will enable you to base decisions properly. But don't be afraid to just ask and desist when, and only when, every one of your questions are dealt with in a proper manner.
2. Be driven by logic and not emotions. Cool wheels with all the latest bits and pieces might cloud your better judgement. Probably 9 times from 10 you spend a lot over the top than anyone ought to. The answer is think logically and not emotionally. Stand back a bit and see the car for what it is not the illogical drive that made you fall in love.
3. Know exactly what you want in advance of walking into the dealership rooms. An open mind can be easily manipulated, and often in a way that's not what you want. Seek the best information you can find to set in stone the exact things you are after but keeping to what you can afford, and don't be swayed by smooth talk.
4. Talk to the dealer about the price, not payments. Dealers who refer to the "easy" payments may be trying to avoid any mention of price, and this is one thing that you need to know. All necessary homework should be done then you'll have no doubts about the price that best fits is best suited to a plan of payment to fit your budget. But if you focus on payment, you may end up paying more than you bargained for.
5. Know when the time has come to make a decision. You might choose not to go through with the deal, alternatively, you may wish to see the deal to its conclusion. You should constantly monitor how you feel more or less the suggestion that is made to you by the salesman. Assuming that you are comfortable with your feelings, then stay with it and see it through. Of course, if you detect a suspicion of something not right, leave the deal.
